Songs often have a way of marking seasons in our lives. A while back I decided to put together a compilation album as a way of looking back on what God has done and moving on to what’s next. My last “solo” project was in 2007 and I was a part of three projects with my old church after that. It was a very meaningful season…I learned much, made new friends, had great experiences, and wrote a few tunes I never would have otherwise.
Greatly To Be Praised contains previously released material so I’ve made it free/donation-based for a few days starting Monday 9/17. If you’ve never heard any of my music, this is a great way to get it. For those who already have, there will be a brand-new “unplugged” version of the title song Greatly To Be Praised that I lead with Chelsea Phillips and percussionist Greg Best. I’ve always met God best in quietness, and the simple/organic feel is really more my style. That’s where the song was crafted and I’m glad we took it back there.
This album is a soundtrack to the times, places, and people that have forever marked my journey. In any season–good, bad, and in-between–I’ve found the reason to lift my voice in worship is because God is and will always be great and greatly to be praised. Thanks for your support and taking the time to listen. Any Facebook shares, Twitter retweets, blog posts, phone calls to radio stations (kidding)—anything to help get word out would be so appreciated. Blessings!
UPDATE: download the album on NoiseTrade or BandCamp….your choice!
