Before embarking on a career change to marketing and consulting, I was involved heavily in Christian ministry. In fact, I’m still an ordained reverend and currently pastor a church part-time near our home in New Jersey.
The journey into marketing and business has been a fun but unexpected one. Just a quick read of my blog archive’s headlines reflects the changes over the past few years. In the big picture, I know that what I do now is a part of my life’s call. It’s been great to help nonprofits through my marketing and consulting experience.
Still, I’ve wondered many times what I should do with all my ministry experiences…I’ve had a ton! So I’ve decided to finally launch kungfupastor.com this Thursday, October 31st.
Why KungFuPastor?
- I’m Asian so I can get away with it.
- It’s memorable. Adding “kungfu” in front of most any name is like adding bacon to any dish. It just makes it better. Some of you more familiar with Asian culture might be saying, “You’re Korean. Korean’s don’t do kung fu.” Ah, but I pastor a predominantly Chinese church, which is the native culture of kung fu. Plus my congregation said it was cool, so there. It’s legit!
- I’ve had a lot of overlapping experience in ministry, and now between the professions of business and ministry. I’ll have some unique insights to share. A number of my friends are going to share on a regular basis there, too. After all, maintaining one blog is hard enough!
This page, mikekim.tv, will continue to be my platform for consulting and coaching. This is my primary profession, and I continue to learn so much about life, business, coaching, and leadership that I want to keep sharing about. This will still be my main page.
I’ll be back later in the week here on mikekim.tv for my regular posts. I can’t wait because this weekend I’m heading to Dallas for Michael Hyatt’s Platform Conference! Be sure to check back here about my experiences there.
Have a great week!
