Well, it’s been over a month since posting a blog but it hasn’t been because I’ve been away from my computer. Actually, I’ve been on it non-stop finishing my first book, He Who Honors Me: Keeping God at the Center of Worship Leading! It was actually the idea of a friend of mine, Derek Levendusky. Derek came to me with the idea to co-write a book on worship last fall; what he didn’t realize was that he was the 3rd person within a six-month period to prophetically challenge me to start writing.
Thankfully, Derek’s already been through the book process and had the outline and other details formulated already–all I had to do was write. (Derek also walked me through the music recording process back in 2003 when he engineered and mixed my first album, Generation Holy. Looks like God keeps putting Derek in my life at strategic times!)
The premise of this book is to call us back to the simplicity of God-centered worship, especially in a day when so many worship leaders are confused by a Christian culture obsessed with entertainment and seeker-sensitivity. Between our combined years of experience, I think worship leaders, teams, and pastors everywhere will be strengthened and challenged. Worship leader and songwriter Darrell Evans (Trading My Sorrows, Your Love is Extravagant) is writing the foreword.
The book is set to release this May in both e-book and regular formats. We’ll keep you posted!
