Ever since moving to Manchester, CT a few years ago, I haven’t been able to shake the phrase “Manchester United.” (I don’t follow soccer but I know enough to know Manchester United is a famous soccer team.) What really struck me about the phrase though is that it reflected my heart for the churches in our new city, and I believe God’s as well. When the church unites, God-things happen.
I’m not sure what the Lord has in store for this region of our country, but we are taking steps towards finding out. We will be hosting a regional night of worship called Deeper at our church, Church of the Living God in Manchester (just a few minutes outside of Hartford). The event will be on Friday January 29, 2010 from 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Our only agenda is to host God’s presence, seek His face, hear His heart, and contend for breakthrough and revival in the greater Hartford region. If you live in the state of Connecticut and especially live in this area, we want to invite you to come out. There is no registration required or fees of any kind. This is not about a concert, performance, or promoting man but rather a regional gathering of a nameless, faceless people brought together by a desire to worship and pray for breakthrough in our area of New England. We believe as we’ve sung so many times that “greater things are yet to come and greater things are still to be done in this city.”
In the future we’ll be inviting other guest worship leaders/ministries to flavor our meetings, but with this first time through we’re keeping it in-house and I’ll be leading worship with our worship band. What we build our ministries on is what we must maintain/sustain them on, so we are choosing to build these nights of worship upon the foundation of worship and prayer. Let the church rise up, unite, and mobilize to see the kingdom of God come! For more information, go to www.clgonline.net and/or visit my site at www.mikekimmusic.com. Hope to see you on the 29th, and spread the word!
