Bloggers are always looking for any kind of tool to make it easier for people to share their content.
I’ve tried my fair share, like Click To Tweet, Shareaholic, and other plugins that would entice or encourage readers to share my posts. While those have helped me get the job done, I’ve found one that (I think) trumps them all:
Selection Sharer by Hans van Gent.
The premise is simple. Readers can simply highlight whatever one-liner or section they find interesting, and the plugin pulls up options to share the selected copy (along with the URL of the post) on Twitter, LinkedIn, or email. All hail the sheer genius:
I like how Click To Tweet “leads” readers to share my content, but I often found myself writing for one-liners just to get people to Tweet my stuff.
I’m going to put that plugin on hold and solely use Selection Sharer for a few months. It lets me write freely, but more importantly it allows the reader to choose what he or she finds most interesting. Pretty cool, right?
